Sometimes even a basic skate spot like a three-stair or a crusty bank can lure you in a three-hour session when on a skate trip. The days are longer, the energy is plenty and everything feels new and exciting. Joking, farting and being a complete mess is the magic of skate trips.
And if you find something unique to skate, and it makes your trip even more exciting. That’s what small towns in Southwestern Estonia seem to be like. Eight dudes in one caravan, our Tallinn mates ventured on a trip to places less traveled to in their home country. Peep the pics by Lauri Taht and quick reflections from the crew. Also, don’t miss the video and “tõmba getdafakki” [eng. Get the fuck away]
Rainer: So me and the rest of the crew ended up on Jaagup’s caravan going different small towns and spots. Bro, I took a tent along with me that never got used.
Lauri: Our original plan was to head to Sweden and Denmark, but that didn’t work out, so we ended up exploring the west, southwest, and south of Estonia instead.

Meelis: Driving around in one caravan with 8 dudes was actually really cool and something out of your comfort zone at the same time. You could see that it only takes 3 days pretty much before good friends starting to turn on each other hahaha.

Siim: I think someone saw it [the bank spot on the photo] in the evening news when they had the opening ceremony of this school or whatever. And from that point onwards we knew we have to make a trip there to skate it. But it’s in Lihula, so quite off the beaten path and you don’t generally just go there.
Meelis: At first the school workers where the banks locate were not amused about us skating there… But guys talked us through and it was chill. Unfortunately they didn’t let us slide and grind the edges of the banks but atleast we found a compromise to even skate it so it was a big win and big thanks to them for us letting to skate there!
Siim: It is a perfect skate spot for sure but as it is still street, it wasn’t that easy to skate the corners actually. These were quite steep and also the bricks were sketchier around the corners, with some of them loose. But we were able to make things happen still.

Nils: I think we all switched off from regular life and just enjoyed the moment a little more than usual. Cause I really like to cook, I also really enjoyed cooking for the boys over bonfire n shit. End of the day, a few beers and some food to end the day. Really enjoyable.

Kristo: Jaagup was a hectic driver, he’s not used to drive around with 5 people in the back, we were flying around a some point. Always hold on to your drink, no cupholders in sight.
Nils: Don’t get me wrong, I belive he [Jaagup] is a proper driver and knows his shit, but… There were times we were all a little scared. Its a big and old camper so it moves all kinds of directions, so when you are not driving yourself it feels wobbly as fuck. It didnt help also that Jaagup was yelling stuff like: “Hold on a turn is coming” But yeah everything went amazing in the end. Take your friends and “Tõmba getdafakki”

Kristjan: When everyone’s sole priority for a few days is just skateboarding, it’s the perfect antidote to the high-speed pace of working behind spreadsheets. It gave me a chance to completely switch off from the day-to-day grind, clear my head, and just be a skate rat again.
Lauri: It was a super chill trip, and that’s exactly what this video is all about.
Rainer: You can already tell what was still running in the blood system when Lauri edited that video
Lauri: For the soundtrack, I only used songs we actually listened to during the trip. Big thanks to everyone who came along and everyone who helped us out with places to stay and everything else along the way!
Meelis: The trip can be 4-5 days but you are going to remember it for the rest of your life!
