Karlis Bogustovs and Jevgenijs “Jefka” Kostirko contributed their time and energy to make a new obstacle at, the most notorious Riga DIY spot, BARIX. The goal of the project was to make a more challenging obstacle, and to experience longer slides and grinds. According to Karlis and Jefka, old box was too low and short. As a result, they build this monster of a box which was fun to skate only for Karlis. Check the video for proof.
And remember, if you go to any DIY spot where you don’t know anyone, be humble, introduce yourself, bring locals a treat (beer, water etc.) offer help with the spot, don’t leave trash, obviously. Of course these things don’t mean you will be welcomed, but you can still give it a shot.
Don’t forget that there are people who build these spots, and even consider them as their second home, and they are not always happy to see some strangers lurking around.
