On the 13th of June the world vide skateboard series Volcom Wild in the Parks returned to Riga, Latvia after more than 10 year hiatus. Some previous events had taken place in multiple indoor and outdoor skateparks in the Baltics over the years. This time the chosen place was Miera Dārzs skatepark.
The organizers – Boards.lv team managed to transport a big Volcom obstacle from Spot center to Miera Dārzs to give some extra possibilities for the riders. When the morning of the competition arrived the weather was not looking good as it was raining heavily and thoughts of going to Gtiim indoor for the event were being discussed.
Fortunately thanks to the weather gods and the involvement from the skaters and the ladies who work at the park, we managed to get the park dry and the competition was on!
Riders participated in two groups – those under the age of 15 and 15 and up. Top 5 in each group not only got nice prizes but also an opportunity to compete in the VWITP finals in Netherland this October.
